Pet hair eraser is great! September 5, 2010 BeachBaby (Indiana) I got the Bissell Pet Hair eraser about a month ago and I love it! I have 2 cats and I'm always cleaning up their hair. That little rubbery nozzel really does the trick. And the hard plastic nozzle is fabulous for getting the litter they track out of their box, dust bunnies, etc. The cord is plenty long enough and I think it is more powerful than a rechargeable. The way the exhaust blows out has not really caused me any problems like someone else complained about. The first couple of times I used it the power button seemed awkward and it felt a little unbalanced in my hand, but I'm used to it now. I highly recommend it!
Powerful Little Vacuum August 31, 2010 TBR (Chicago, IL) I have a medium-haired Maine Coon. He sheds like crazy. I bought the vacuum primarily for my comforter, as my cat likes to sleep on my bed every day. I was going through 1-2 lint rollers per WEEK just to keep up with him. The vacuum does a very good job of removing most of the fur. Normally, though, I need to pass the vacuum over the furry spot two or three times to remove all the hair, and some is always still left behind, although much less than was originally there.
The vacuum becomes a little heavy with prolonged use. I use the vacuum for 15-20 minutes at a time, so even a person in very good shape with significant arm strength would feel tired after dragging this appliance back and forth over fabric for that long. At least it's a good workout!
The dirt compartment is small, but if you only have one or two pets, especially cats, you probably won't need to empty it until the very end. My cat sheds a lot and I empty the compartment every 2 or 3 uses.
The vents are on the side, but depending on how you're using the vacuum, this could be a big problem or not one at all. I don't use the vacuum for spills in the kitchen or crumbs in the couch, just fur on my bed and furniture. The air doesn't blow the fur around because it's matted to the fabric.
The cord is VERY LONG, which I love. With my upright vacuum, I have to unplug that darn thing two or three times per use, and I only have a one bedroom apartment. This cord is more than long enough to extend across my bedroom as I vacuum my bed, pillows, and desk chair.
The pink rubbery nubs on the vacuum are genius and really do pull up the fur. Other than the excellent suction, I believe they're the reason this vacuum works so well.
In short, I don't think the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is a perfect substitute for a lint roller. I haven't seen the amazing results that others claim. Not once has the vacuum removed "every hair." That's okay, though - this vacuum is much more cost effective than a lint roller and does the bulk of the job. You may want to finish up with a lint roller, especially on bedding or other loose-hanging fabrics, if you're very particular. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! August 28, 2010 Mary Schumacher (Wisconsin) This works fantastic and is rated number one by Consumer Reports! My granson loves it because he can see the dirt coming in! I get a free vacuum session when he's here!
Great Service August 24, 2010 Kiwi I placed my order for this item on Saturday and received it by the following Tuesday! It works well and I am extremely satisfied. Many thanks.
Bye-bye hair August 23, 2010 dar I read an article stating that this was a very good little vac. I ordered one for myself and my two daughters. We all have dogs and cats. A lot of shedding goes on.
This thing has some power!! It sucks up dog and cat hair easily. It has a long cord so you don't have to plug and unplug too often.
It's only fault is that because of it's chubby design you can't get it into small spaces. I am hoping that an attachment for this comes available soon.
Overall I am very pleased with this little vac, a great buy for the money!!!
