great steam mop March 15, 2010 JB8989 I read "ArtistAlana" reviews of popular steam mops and decided to try the Eureka based on her recommendation. Overall I am really pleased. It was a breeze to assemble and the directions were easy to understand. I have four types of flooring in my house: vinyl, tile, laminate, hardwood. It worked beautifully on all four. It heats up quickly and lasts for about 15 minutes before needing a refill. You may need any extension cord for larger areas. My floors were very clean, not too wet, and they dried very quickly.
For those with older homes/electrical systems, it is a 3 prong plug, so keep that in mind. Our den has laminate floors and does not have any three prong outlets so we needed a long extension cord to reach a room that had a three prong outlet. Also we have hardwood floors upstairs and needed to run an extension cord from our bathroom to get to the bedrooms.
nottypicallyonetoreview March 15, 2010 Not a reviewer typically (Tulsa, OK) I was unhappy with this product. It was bulky, leaked water, always left the floors soaked, and didn't maneuver well around anything. Also cut hands twice on the handle the very first use. Sent it back and got one that is light and maneuvers well around table legs, toilets.
It cleans the floors well and I can do my whole house with only one tank of water, March 14, 2010 L. Fiori It cleans my floors ok I was a little dissapointed that it didn't give off enough steam. My floors were left to wet and took to long to dry.
Great little steamer March 14, 2010 J. Wood (Arlington, TX) I purchased the Enviro Steamer on a recommendation from my son and daughter-in-law. I have laminate floors and was reluctant to use a steamer for fear of excess water being released on the floor. Much to my relief, this little steamer put out just the right amount of moisture and cleaned the surface extremely well and with very little effort on my part. The Enviro does a super job. Only negative is that it left a few streaks here and there but those were easily wiped away. I think if I used distilled water, that would take care of the streaking problem.
The Only Way to Mop March 14, 2010 Busy Mom (Massachusettes) I was looking for an easier way to mop my huge porcelin kitchen floor and looked at all the steamers out there. This one was a great deal and is so easy to use. Someone wrote that you could use microfiber cloths and I haven't tried but I bet would work great. No, it will not clean the grout but with three boys it keeps my floor clean and in as little as 10 minutes. Mopping the kitchen is now not my most hated chore in my house.
