shark August 17, 2010 Lawrence Corrick This is our 3rd Shark After a year or so the batteries don't recharge.. All things considered they are very easy to use, easy to store and empty, get in tight space, so even when they peter out we buy another. They are cheap and work well. What more could you ask for?
My Newest Shark August 13, 2010 westley This is my second Shark. I love the ease and convenience of this item. The first one I had did not have the articulated handle. It was really a pain to empty because of the position of the catchpan and tightness of the release.
My new Shark is much easier to empty even though the catchpan is located in the same place. The release is looser. This Shark also holds a charge much longer than the old model. I have not used the articulated handle feature as it isn't necessary for my household.
The only problem is one which you find with most rotary vacuums: Hair tends to wind itself around the brush and needs to be cut out. If you don't keep up with this maintenance the motor will burn up.
poorly executed design July 29, 2010 Roxanne Gray (NJ United States) I really wanted to like this sweeper. While it was fairly easy to assemble and it does pick up about 70% of the small dirt particles it's not well made. The battery is not up to par, it loses charge too fast. The bending mechanism in the middle of the shaft is stiff, the bend where the handle meets the sweeper head sometimes sticks when you want to bend it and bends when you want it stationary. But the largest problem is it is very hard to empty the dirt collection tray. I will stick to my 40 year old electrolux push sweeper--not battery, no electric--just a revolving brush and dust pan. I've tested them side by side, to show others in this house who did not initially agree with me, and this power model did not do as well as a the old time manual version.
Like product July 21, 2010 Lloyd We are extremely happy with the Shark, use it every day. Great for people like my wife who has a bad back and can not handle anything with a lot of weight or effort required.
Frank May 24, 2010 F. McDonald (Seattle) Works ok but a disappointment compared to the performance of other Shark models - doesn't seem to have the pickup capability of earlier Shark's. I've owned two others in the past. They worked great on different types of carpet and rugs. This model has problems regularly picking up material on the carpet and moving it into the collection tray - I have to go over the same spot more than once and empty the tray frequently to facilitate pickup of debris on carpet. Can't see anything wrong with how the machine functions so it must be a design flaw.
